This week I challenged you all to tell me three reasons you are strong. Here are mine for 2015:
I am strong because…
… I am resilient. I don’t let injuries, illness, or soreness hold me back from reaching for my goals – I work around whatever is going on, and I usually discover something new and helpful in the process.
I am strong because…
… I can do pretty much any weird thing I find when I’m sifting through fitness information online, and I’m not afraid to try it. If I don’t succeed at first, I keep working until I get it! Weird BOSU trick? Totally there. TRX push-up variation #247? All about it. Scorpion pose? Closer every week. Unstoppable.
I am strong because…
… I work on my weaknesses. Pull-ups don’t come naturally to me because my shoulders have some unique issues, but it doesn’t stop me from training for them every week. Long-distance running wasn’t easy to build up to, but I did it and I maintain my running base. I was afraid of inversions, but now I spend a lot of my free time upside down.
…and because I’m an over-achiever…
I am strong because…
… I tore out an entire wall with my bare hands, a hand saw, and a keyhole saw.
So far, the report from your fellow challengers is that you’re strong because you can lift your own luggage (an awesome feeling!) and do a ton more push-ups than you could before you started training at Tiny Fitness. Why else are you strong? Tell me and I’ll add it on to this post!
