My favorite things about being a personal trainer – weekly studio update

You might have heard me say this is my retirement career – I really love what I do, even after more than two decades of fitness-related work. It’s not always easy, but I love SO many things about it, like…

  1. Really helping each client figure out how to make fitness work for them.
I don’t have one set meal plan for my clients, but bodies in general need the balance of macros that speaks to each unique physiology for optimal health and performance. I don’t have one set way of strength training, and not everyone does HIIT with me, but I do have tons of tools for building muscle, increasing definition, and teaching your body to manage energy better. And no one has a lot of extra time, so I do the hard work of knowing what your fastest way to results will be…and then you get to do the hard work of trying it out.
  2. Seeing my clients make lasting changes.
I hear from so many of my clients YEARS after we finish our time training together that they are still maintaining their results – if not continuing to build on them – and that is what I’m in this for. I don’t care if we can do a magic trick to drop the scale 11 pounds this week; I want you to be strong and healthy for the long haul, and know how to maintain the results that you strive for.
  3. Those bonus results.
A lot of people come to me for help getting physically stronger or fitting into a certain wedding dress the way they want to, but the rest of the progress they make is astounding. Self-confidence opens a lot of doors! World travel, new jobs, better relationships, and so many more opportunities that bubble up from learning to believe in yourself and handle setbacks and speed bumps and the process of learning something brand new…it’s the best.
  4. Best of the best practices.
Since I work for myself (and you guys!), I can adapt to new methodologies as soon as the research says I should.  I can be flexible with how I train and really meet you at your starting point.
  5. It’s SUPER FUN.
Whether you already think working out is fun or not, I dare you to come train with me – it’s a total blast 95% of the time, and the other 5%…at least I’m honest about it! You don’t have to do 100 burpees in 30 seconds or squat until you can’t stand just to get results, and I do tailor workouts to preferences as much as I possibly can without being irresponsible. Life is too short for this not to be fun.
